Wordle Start

Here's how the site started

My sister and I, who live in different states, were staying in the same hotel for a couple of days while visiting relatives. On the first evening there, we were sitting in the lobby guest area talking and one topic that came up was Wordle. After we compared our games for that day we hit on the idea of picking a starting word we would both use when we played again the next day. So in the morning, over the complementary hotel breakfast, we compared how we did. This was the surprising result.

Wordle Comparison
There was a little mixup when she remembered the word CRAMP and I remembered CLAMP, but it didn't matter. The results weren't affected.

Ever since then I've thought it would be fun to do more games like that, just to see what different people might do with the same start word. That is what motivated me to create this site. It's all about sharing start words.

Logins...why?

The site is open to anyone who wants to visit, but to participate as a friend of the site, you need an account to use certain features. The aim of the site is to compare how different players use the same start word, and to keep all of that straight we have to know who is who. So you need an account to save your Wordle results. You also need an account to make suggestions of new start words because we're friends sharing ideas here. If one of your suggestions is selected for a certain day, you get the credit. It will also allow for discussion among participating people.

To register, you just need a user name and password and an email address for confirmation. Of course, no private login information will be shared with any other person or organization. It's solely for the use of participating on the site.

Optionally, you can also add a first name and/or where you're from or what kind of English you speak. And, just for fun, in keeping with the theme of Wordle, we're collecting people's favorite five-letter words. That's on the registration form, too.
